"Unpacking The Powerhouse Museum's Textile Collections"
Arranged to coincide with the next Open Day at the Powerhouse Discovery Centre at Castle Hill, this seminar has been organised to specifically target TEA members with a textiles specialty. The program for the day will include:
* an illustrated talk by the Powerhouse Museum's Principal Curator, Christina Sumner, on their textile collection.
* a tour of the Olympic costumes with the Curator of Design and Society (Fashion and Dress), Glynis Jones
* an overview of 'Design, Make Evaluate' program for TAS teachers with Lysele Assarapin, Education and Volunteers Coordinator, Powerhouse Discovery Centre
* preserving textiles with Suzanne Chee, Conservator of Textiles, Powerhouse Museum
* the museum's Dress Register and Lace International Award with Lindie Ward, Curator of Design and Society (Textiles and Lace)

Come along and enjoy the day's activities and also take the opportunity to see firsthand what wonderful educational resources are available at the Powerhouse Discovery Centre.

Morning tea and lunch will be provided.
